2023 Toyota Sequoia
The Full-Size SUV Refreshed

Full Size, Full Power

The Toyota Sequoia is big in size and big in personality. Based on the same platform as the Toyota Tundra pickup, it’s a large, confident, and powerful SUV that’s perfectly suited to demanding family drivers. The Sequoia has been a strong seller since its launch back in 2000, but the 2023 model year sees a major refresh that’s sure to put the Sequoia at the head of the three-row pack.

All models in the lineup are built around the same hybrid powertrain, pairing a 3.4L V6 gas engine with an electric motor to give a mammoth output of 437 horsepower and 583lb-ft of torque. The output is passed through a smooth ten-speed automatic transmission, to rear-wheel drive as standard with all-wheel drive an available option across the range.

Hit the Trail with the TRD Off-Road Trim

The powerful engineering makes the Sequoia a capable and confident performer for highway and city driving, but the model can also be taken off-road – especially with the TRD trim, which adds a slew of trail-friendly features to the mix. Highlights include enhanced shock absorbers to deliver a smoother ride over challenging terrains, while a low-speed Crawl Control mode takes care of acceleration and braking so you can concentrate on navigating the obstacles ahead.

Increased Towing Capacity

The 2023 Sequoia has a greatly increased towing capacity of up to 4,080kg, an ample amount for taking trailers, dirt bikes, and even boats along on your wilderness adventures. What’s more, the available Tow Tech package makes heavy hauling easier with technologies including a trailer backup guide, plus trailer steering assistance for foolproof straight-line reversing.

High-End Interior

The Sequoia is as spacious as it is powerful, with the standard layout seating eight passengers across three rows. However, for a comfort upgrade, the second-row bench seat can be replaced by dual captain’s chairs, reducing the capacity to seven. Luxurious touches including leather upholstery are available depending on the trim level, along with heated and cooled seats, a panoramic moonroof, and real wood and chrome accents.

Infotainment and Technology

With this latest refresh, Toyota has added the best of today’s technology to the Sequoia’s infotainment system. The entry-level model is supplied with an 8″ multimedia display, upgraded to a generous 14″ on all higher trims, with touch control backed up by advanced voice recognition. Smartphone integration is simple through wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while two phones can also be hooked up to the media system using Bluetooth connectivity.

Advanced Safety Tech

Every model in the 2023 Sequoia lineup comes with the upgraded Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 system, keeping you safer than ever on the road. A forward collision warning feature has enhanced sensitivity to detect pedestrians in low light levels and is now capable of detecting people and vehicles around intersection turns. Emergency braking and steering assist can help to avoid collisions, while automatic lane centring and lane departure warnings help keep you driving safely straight ahead.

Experience the 2023 Toyota Sequoia

The 2023 update of the Toyota Sequoia will be available for test drives from summer 2022, and with so many improvements over the previous model, it’s set to take the full-size SUV market by storm.
