More than ten thousand people were evacuated when forest fires threatened their homes in British Columbia. Communities across the province were evacuated as firefighters battled the blazes around the clock and strong winds continued to fuel the fires.

2021 C-HR Nightshade Edition
Get In and Get Noticed! (+video)

“The C-HR is the compact crossover that stands out from the crowd, and this year we are excited to give it the Nightshade treatment,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “Always ready to make a statement, the 2021 C-HR combines great looks and a delightful personality, making every trip a fun adventure.”

What happens when Toyota designers blend sport coupe, hatchback and compact crossover? The boldly expressive, fun to drive and utterly unique C-HR happens. The C-HR’s standout design for 2021 is just as edgy – with the new introduction of a Nightshade edition and so much more. This includes newly standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 for C-HR across all trims.

The C-HR packs a lot of attitude in a compact package that measures 172.6 in. long on a 103.9- in. wheelbase – making the C-HR a tight, agile form that’s a joy to wheel through congested urban areas.

The C-HR is anything but status quo and the limited production Nightshade Edition makes that more apparent than ever. Available in four colours – Black Sand Pearl, Blizzard Pearl, Supersonic Red or Magnetic Grey, all with black roofs – the C-HR Nightshade Edition also features unique black detailing, including 18” alloy wheels, door handles, and emblem overlays. A front chin spoiler completes the picture.

The C-HR’s good looks start with diamond-cut bodylines and a striking grille design capped by LED headlamps. Inside, style meets comfort with a five-person cabin featuring a piano black dash, dual-zone automatic climate control, 4.2” multi-information display and 60/40 split folding rear seats. The six-speaker display audio system features an 8” screen, advanced voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility with both Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.

Under the hood, a spirited yet efficient 2.0-litre four-cylinder VALVEMATIC engine delivers 144 horsepower worth of driving fun plus a fuel efficiency rating of 8.7L/100km city and 7.5L/100km highway. A well-balanced design and advanced handling systems help put the driver in control in every situation, while a multi-setting Drive Mode Select system lets drivers tailor the C-HR’s responsiveness and handling to match the weather and their mood.

A long list of standard safety systems starts with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 – a bundle of active safety technologies that help extend the driver’s awareness and ability to avoid collisions or mitigate their effect. Other standard safety features include the Toyota Star Safety System, a back-up camera, tire pressure monitor system, Hill Start Assist Control and 10 airbags.

The C-HR is available in a choice of trim levels, as follows:

  • The 2021 Toyota C-HR LE features 17” steel wheels, keyless entry, 12v accessory power outlet, a colour-keyed rear spoiler, fabric clad seats, leather-wrapped shift knob, and a tonneau cover in the cargo area.
  • The 2021 Toyota C-HR XLE Premium features several upgrades, including 18” alloy wheels, the Toyota Smart Key System with push-button start, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, heated and power folding exterior mirrors fitted with puddle lamps and the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert safety technologies.

  • The 2021 Toyota C-HR Limited adds premium LED headlamps and the Adaptive Front Lighting system, unique sporty 18” alloy wheels, leather seat cladding, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, and Safety Connect (1-year trial).
  • The limited production 2021 Toyota C-HR Nightshade Edition is built off the XLE Premium model, adding a black roof, black door handles, black 18” alloy wheels, black emblem overlays and a front chin spoiler.
