Spring Craft Ideas
3 Fun DIY Projects to Welcome Warmer Weather

Below, you will find three DIY craft ideas that anyone can do as long as you have the right craft tools and supplies. Add a little bit of colour and pep to your home in no time with these easy projects. Let’s start with the simplest craft and work our way up.

Pipe Cleaner Flowers

Even if real flowers haven’t started to bloom yet, you can make yourself some cute pipe cleaner flowers to set on your desk or around the home. It’s an easy little craft that you can do with the kids.

To begin, just place one pipe cleaner on top of another to make an X. Twist the pipe cleaners around one another to secure them, and then bend each half of each pipe cleaner into a petal shape. To make more petals, just use more pipe cleaners. Use a green pipe cleaner for a stem and another green one to make the leaves. To add a bit of pizazz, cut a small pipe cleaner in half and make a tight, small coil out of it. Use a hot glue gun to secure it to the middle of your flower.

Jute String and Toilet Paper Roll Napkin Holders

This is another easy craft that won’t take you longer than a few minutes for each napkin holder. You’ll be left with some cute napkin holders to use for family dinners and gatherings such as Easter.

All you need for this craft is some jute string, toilet paper rolls, and a hot glue gun. By cutting your toilet paper rolls into roughly 1-inch sections, you should be able to get four rings from each. Then, all you need to do is cut a very long jute string and proceed to wrap it around the toilet paper roll ring while gluing it down at the same time. You should only need to use dots of glue every once in a while to hold the string in place.

Wine Bottle Succulent Planter

Did you know that you can repurpose wine bottles into a unique planter for a mini succulent garden? If you don’t have an empty bottle, then call up some friends and enjoy one (or more!) together.

Next, you’ll need a proper glass bottle cutter. Do not try to cut or break the glass in any other way. You can find glass bottle cutters online or at craft stores such as Micheals. Make sure you carefully follow the instructions that came with the glass cutter. It can take a bit of practice, which is why it’s good to have more than one bottle ready. Once you’ve got the hang of it, simply cut off the top half of the bottle and you’ll be left with an empty base that you can fill with soil. Then, just plant the succulent or succulents of your choice!

What better way to welcome spring than by getting a little crafty and creative? Once you’ve busted out the crafting supplies for the season, it’ll be easier to start on any other projects that pique your interest.
