7 Best Apps to Help You Get in Shape

No matter what type of workout you most enjoy or how much time you have to devote to exercise, there’s a fitness app out there for you. Here are seven of the top fitness apps for getting in shape.

1. JEFIT
JEFIT is a convenient and easy-to-use workout-tracking app geared mainly towards lifting exercises. The free version provides access to a large database of fitness programs involving weightlifting, powerlifting, bodybuilding, bodyweight routines, and more. It also allows you to keep track of your routines and your progress, right down to your body measurements. A pro plan removes ads and offers even more features.

2. Aaptiv
Aaptiv provides users with a wide range of audio fitness classes in just about every category you can think of, including running, yoga, strength training, elliptical, cycling, high-intensity interval training, and more. Work out anywhere with whatever equipment you have access to or with no equipment at all! The app does require a monthly subscription, but it’s definitely worth it.

3. Strava
Strava issomething of a social fitness network for runners, cyclists, and swimmers. It allows you to track your fitness progress over time by recording and analyzing factors such as speed, distance, pace, calories burned, and elevation gained. Users can also take part in fitness challenges against others. Many Strava features are available for free, while a paid membership will unlock even more.

4. Freeletics
Freeletics focuses on providing users with exercises that don’t require any equipment. It offers hundreds of bodyweight and high-intensity interval training workouts that you can do anywhere and that also don’t require a lot of space, making it a great choice for apartment dwellers. The app keeps track of your progress and customizes workouts to suit your goals.

5. Keelo
Keelo is all about delivering quick and highly effective workouts through a combination of equipment-based and bodyweight-only high-intensity interval training. While other apps also feature these calorie-shredding workouts, Keelo is your best choice if high-intensity interval training is your main focus. The full app does require a subscription, but a sampling of workouts is included for free for you to try.

6. Sworkit
Sworkit is designed for people who don’t have much time to devote to exercise. Maximize your time by telling the app how long you have to work out and what kind of exercise you want to do, and it will provide you with personalized recommendations. Most of the exercises utilize bodyweight, so you won’t have to pick up any additional equipment.

7. 8fit
8fit takes a holistic approach to a workout app. It will help you to not only create a personalized workout plan according to your goals and fitness needs but a personalized diet plan as well. It serves as a mobile personal trainer and nutritionist in one, helping you get fit and stay fit by making concrete and lasting lifestyle changes.Smartphones have a bit of a reputation for contributing to sedentary lifestyles, but it all depends on how they are used. With the right app and the right motivation, a smartphone can also be one of the best tools for getting and staying in shape.
