Exhibition Excitement
Get Ready for the 119th Armstrong Fair

The Armstrong Fair – also known as the Interior Provincial Exhibition – is set to return for its 119th year of celebrating the local agricultural community with a whole host of thrills and festivities.

This year’s fair will be taking place from August 29th to September 2nd, making it the perfect destination for your September long weekend. British Columbia’s premier agricultural tradition, the Armstrong Fair is the best place for visitors of all ages to experience a charming country atmosphere. Pack up the family and get set to visit downtown Armstrong to see it all for yourself.

There is never any shortage of entertainment and activities at the Armstrong fair. West Coast Entertainment provides a wide variety of amusement rides and fun games for every member of the family to enjoy. Whether you’re seeking exciting thrills or looking for some slightly less intense fun, they’ve got it all.

The Armstrong Fair is also home to the can’t-miss Interior Provincial Exhibition & Stampede, which bills itself as “the best rodeo west of the Rockies!” It welcomes the professional rodeo tour and hosts two types of professional rodeo competitions: timed events and roughstock events. Make sure you catch the popular mini chuckwagon races as well.

You’ll also get the chance to enjoy live music starting every single day at 11 am at the Ram Truck Stage. The stage just so happens to be right next to the fair’s famous food court, allowing you to grab a bite while you listen to the talented musical acts. If you’re a fan of food, then you’ll also want to check out the Iron Chef Contest, which features team challenges, mystery ingredients, and plenty of culinary masterpieces.

Of course, the linchpin of the Armstrong Fair is and always has been the agricultural exhibits. The exhibition provides a showplace for the agricultural community to display their livestock and produce, as well as to offer hands-on demonstrations. The fair is all about promoting agricultural education and awareness. This year’s fair will be placing a special focus on celebrating the sheep division.

There’s just so much to look forward to every year at the Armstrong Fair. The annual Saturday morning parade is back with over 100 entries, as is the Friday and Saturday night barn dance. While you’re on the fairgrounds, make sure you also check out the over 200 vendors offering a variety of unique products and services. The fair promises plenty of new and exciting activities and attractions this year as well.

The gates to the Armstrong Fair will be open every day from 7:30 am to 9 pm, though many activities will remain open until 10 pm. Daily tickets are $18 for adults, $14 for students (13-18) and seniors (60+), and $8 for children (6-12). You can save money by buying multi-day passes or a family pass, which covers two adults and up to four children. Seniors over 85 years of age get in free.

The Armstrong Fair is a fantastic showcase of so much that the charming and beautiful interior of British Columbia has to offer. The coast may have its allure, but there’s a lot to be said for the interior community as well.
