A well-loved annual event in Comox, this year’s Christmas at the Lodge and Holiday Market will be taking place on Saturday, November 30th and Sunday, December 1st between 10 am and 4 pm. Stop by the Filberg Heritage Lodge to do some holiday shopping or take part in a number of fun, holiday-themed activities that the whole family can enjoy.

Set amidst the backdrop of waterfront Filberg Park, the arts and crafts style Filberg Heritage Lodge provides the perfect location for a Christmas market. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time as you browse the more than 30 vendors selling a wide assortment of goods. Just some of the many items typically found at the market every year include natural soaps, handmade jewellery, vintage goods, handmade greeting cards, home and garden decor, handcrafted candles, warm knit accessories, and all sorts of delicious baked treats.

When you’ve finished shopping or just want to take a break from browsing, head to the Summer Kitchen restaurant for a light lunch and some seasonal treats, as well as a selection of wine and beer. There will also be a wide variety of activities for kids taking place over both days, including crafts and Christmas tree decorating. Santa will even be there to ask the little ones what they want for Christmas. Don’t forget to purchase a holiday raffle ticket for a chance to win some great prizes.

While you are enjoying the Filberg Heritage Lodge, the market, and all of the fun activities, make sure you also stop by the Filberg Holiday Bake Sale fundraiser. The fundraiser is held by the Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park Association, a non-profit organization that was established in 1979 to maintain the lodge and the park so that the community can continue to come and experience this unique slice of history.

Constructed in the 1930s, the Filberg Heritage Lodge was once the home of logging magnate Robert Filberg and his wife, Florence. Today, the lodge and the beautifully landscaped surrounding park are a popular site for weddings, celebrations, and all sorts of seasonal festivals, including Christmas at the Lodge and Holiday Market during the last weekend in November every year.

Christmas at the Lodge and Holiday Market is completely free to attend, so bring your friends and family to browse the market and enjoy the festivities. Just make sure you have some extra spending cash in case something catches your eye, as there is no ATM on site. Please also note that dogs are not allowed in the park.
