2021 Nissan GT-R
New T-Spec Limited Edition (+video)

Slotting in above the GT-R Premium grade, the new limited volume GT-R T-spec adds wider front fenders from the previous Track Edition, gold-painted RAYS® forged aluminium-alloy wheels and a carbon fibre rear spoiler. Body-colour door mirrors, black hood ducts and T-spec badging complete the exterior changes. Also added are carbon ceramic brakes with brake air guides from the GT-R NISMO.

Most notable about the new GT-R T-spec are the two exclusive exterior colours – Millennium Jade and Midnight Purple. Millennium Jade was previously offered on the R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nür, one of the rarest GT-Rs ever. With the name inspired by the Nürburgring racetrack, only 718 V-Spec II Nür units were produced – with just 156 carrying the Millennium Jade colour. This is the first time this colour will be offered on a GT-R in the Canadian market.

The new Midnight Purple is a modern interpretation of the Midnight Purple III from the R34 V-Spec, which was limited to 132 units, and the 2014 special edition Midnight Opal R35 GT-R that was limited to only 100 units worldwide.

The T-spec interior includes a special “Mori Green” interior colour, premium semi-aniline leather-appointed seating with pearl suede accents, quilted Alcantara® headliner and additional T-spec badging.

Under the hood, GT-R T-spec customers will find the legendary, hand-assembled twin-turbo VR38DETT 3.8-litre V6 engine, rated at 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque. The refined powerplant is backed by an advanced paddle-shifted sequential 6-speed dual clutch transmission with GT-R’s unique independent rear transaxle ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system.

The GT-R T-spec joins the previously announced GT-R NISMO Special Edition with a very limited number of models available for sale in Canada this winter.

The GT-R NISMO Special Edition features a NISMO-exclusive Stealth Gray exterior colour, new edition-exclusive 20-inch RAYS forged aluminum-alloy wheels with red accents, and a unique clear-coated carbon fibre hood that exposes the intricate carbon fibre weave. For the first time for GT-R, the new Nissan logo adorns the trunk lid and wheel centre caps.

A very limited number of the new model will be available in North America this fall. Pricing for the GT-R NISMO Special Edition will be announced at a later date.

The GT-R NISMO remains Nissan’s ultimate performance super sports car that provides race-proven technology and an exhilarating driving experience for virtually everyone. The GT-R NISMO’s VR38DETT 3.8-liter twin turbo V6 remains the heart of the GT-R’s drivetrain and is rated at 600 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque1. The GT-R NISMO Special Edition utilizes high-precision, weight-balanced parts for the piston rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, and valve gear components dialed in with tighter tolerances, delivering snappier engine revs and quicker turbo spooling.

Each engine is hand-assembled from beginning to end in a special clean room by master technicians known as takumi. Just as great artists sign their work, so do the takumi, with a special aluminum takumi certification plate in a Special Edition-exclusive colour on the front of each engine.

The Nissan GT-R NISMO has always been the culmination of two of Nissan’s most important nameplates: GT-R and NISMO. Entering its 51st season in 2021, the GT-R nameplate represents five decades of history, pedigree, success in racing and a global fan following.

NISMO, its name derived from NISsan MOtorsports International Co., is known worldwide as Nissan’s in-house tuning arm that pursues performance at a maniacal level by perfecting the smallest of details.
