2021 Nissan Kicks
Kicking Up its Appeal with New Enhancements (+video)

While maintaining Kicks’ compact urban crossover dimensions – with its large interior space and nimble, city-sized exterior for easy manoeuvrability –the extensive exterior changes immediately set Kicks apart from the competition and the previous Kicks’ design.

Colour is a hallmark of Kicks, and it continues to be available in a range of vibrant hues, including three new exterior colours and three new two-tone paint schemes. For even more personalization, there are an array of available Kicks Colour Studio accessories.

Smart, stylish redesigned interior

The 2021 Kicks’ interior also has a new look and feel, highlighted by the SV and SR grades’ new seat and door trim, new combi-meter design and full centre console with an armrest and e-parking brake Control with Auto Brake Hold. Throughout the interior, silver accents have been replaced with a combination of more subdued silver and black.

Kick’s instrument panel is dominated by a centrally mounted 7.0-inch colour touchscreen display housing a comprehensive infotainment system. Kicks offers NissanConnect® featuring Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ as standard equipment on all grades. Kicks SV and SR grades add an 8.0-inch colour touchscreen audio display.

For the ultimate audio experience, the Kicks SR Premium Package includes the Bose® Personal® Plus sound system. Part of the Bose® Small Vehicle Series, it delivers a superior, driver-focused listening experience using just eight speakers and proprietary Bose® signal processing to provide what Bose® calls “360 degrees of immersive sound.”

As in previous years, the 2021 Kicks provides ample passenger space throughout the cabin, including front seat legroom. Kicks also offers 914.6 litres of usable cargo space (rear seat folded), part of its efficient packaging for urban adventure use. Kicks easily accommodates five passengers comfortably, thanks in part to the flat rear floor design and rear headroom and legroom that is similar to that of larger crossovers.

A crossover for the adventurous

Every 2021 Kicks comes with a standard 1.6-litre DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder with Continuous Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS). The engine is rated at 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque, which is combined with a smooth, fuel-efficient Xtronic transmission powering the front wheels. While Canadian fuel economy figures are not yet available, fuel economy for the American model is rated at 31 mpg city, 36 mpg highway and 33 mpg combined.

Kicks offers a standard Traction Control System, Vehicle Dynamic Control and Hill Start Assist, front disc/rear drum Anti-lock Braking System and electric power steering with a tight 34.1 foot/10.4 metre turning radius. For 2021, SV and SR grades add new rear disc brakes.

Kicks SR includes an Integrated Dynamic-Control Module, featuring Active Engine Brake, Active Trace Control and Active Ride Control, to help provide a higher level of driving enjoyment.

New for 2021 and standard on SV and SR models is Intelligent Cruise which can ease driver stress in certain situations.

Safety, security and driver convenience features are strong points for Nissan Kicks. Standard Safety Shield® 360 includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, radar-based Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and High Beam Assist.

Kicks is also equipped with a total of 10 airbags. Intelligent Driver Alertness and Rear Door Alert are standard on SV and SR grades, while Kicks SR Premium includes Intelligent Around View® Monitor.
