2020 Nissan Qashqai
Previewed at the Chicago Auto Show (video)

“Our Qashqai is a critical vehicle in Nissan’s popular CUV lineup; slotted strategically between the Nissan Kicks and Rogue,” said Steve Rhind, director of marketing, Nissan Canada Inc. “We’re committed to keeping our crossover/SUV portfolio fresh – which also includes the redesigned Murano, new Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition and flagship Armada. Nissan is on a roll and we’re not letting up heading into 2020.”

Most prominent among the 2020 Qashqai refinements is the new exterior design that offers a more technical feel – helping provide a greater separation from its Nissan Rogue stablemate. The new front fascia features a new hood, Vmotion grille and bumper. The aggressive lighting treatment includes LED signature Daytime Running Lights.

In the rear, a new combination light design matches the more dynamic look of the front end. A new available 19-inch aluminium-alloy wheel design completes the exterior makeover.

The advanced Nissan Safety Shield 360, currently offered on SV and SL grades, will become standard on all 2020 Qashqai models including the base S grade. Part of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility strategy, Safety Shield 360 includes Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Intelligent Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), radar-based Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and High Beam Assist (HBA).

The innovative Rear Door Alert system will continue to be offered as part of Qashqai’s long list of standard features. In addition, ProPILOT Assist will again be available in 2020. ProPILOT Assist is a single-lane “hands-on” driving assistance technology that eases driver workload by reducing the amount of driver acceleration, steering and braking input under certain driving conditions, such as single-lane highway driving.

The 2020 Qashqai will be offered in front-wheel and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive configurations, and in three well-equipped grade levels – S, SV and SL. It will again be powered by a combination of a 141-horsepower 2.0-litre DOHC 16-valve inline 4-cylinder engine in both a manual transmission (certain grades) as well as an Xtronic transmission with Eco Mode switch.

Qashqai incorporates Nissan’s “gliding wing” interior design, providing spatial symmetry with a sense of togetherness – combining a wide-open feeling with areas for personal space. Seating includes standard heated front seats, 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way adjustable front passenger seat, 60/40 split fold-down rear seat with available rear seat centre armrest and available rear seat heating/cooling centre console vents.

Behind the 2nd row seat is up to 20 cu. ft. of cargo space (up to 53.3 with the 2nd-row seat folded down), accessible through the wide rear door. Qashqai also offers the innovative and standard Divide- N-Hide® Cargo System, which is now standard on all grades.

The instrument panel features Fine Vision electroluminescent gauges and 5.0-inch center meter color display with Advanced Driver AssistTM Display. The front center console includes an integral armrest and storage compartment, along with a 12-volt power outlet. Qashqai SV and SL grades include Nissan Intelligent KeyTM with Push Button Start.

Qashqai models also include NissanConnect® featuring Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, with a 7.0-inch colour touch-screen display. Qashqai also has a number of available connected technology and smartphone integration features, including NissanConnect with Navigation and Services.
