Spring Festival Welcomes the Season

The well-loved Spring Okanagan Wine Festival is back and coming to Kelowna from May 1st to May 12th. Entering its 25th year, the festival is a staple event for the local wine industry.

Enjoy wine tastings, gourmet meals, and over 100 wine-themed events throughout the beautiful Okanagan Valley. The Spring Okanagan Wine Festival is one of four seasonal wine festivals produced by the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society. It serves to highlight local vineyards and winemakers and to introduce the season’s best new wines.

Spring Okanagan Wine Festival Signature Events

The Okanagan Wine Festivals Society will be hosting several signature events over the course of the Spring Okanagan Wine Festival. Every year, these events serve as festival highlights, so you’ll definitely want to attend as many as you can.

– The Spring WestJet Wine Tastings at Rotary Centre for the Arts

Kick off the Spring Okanagan Wine Festival with live music, fun activities, delicious appetizers, and over 200 of the best BC wines. The famous Spring WestJet Wine Tastings will be taking place on May 3rd and May 4th from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. Tickets are $79 for the evening.

– Get Blissed Spring Lunch at Meadow Vista Honey Winery

On May 4th, the Meadow Vista Honey Winery will be hosting a spring lunch on the patio. After touring the winery’s farm and meeting the resident bees, you will get to enjoy six small courses paired with award-winning meads. The experience is just $39.

– Spring Wine Fest at The View Winery

There will be a number of events at The View Winery over the course of the Spring Okanagan Wine Festival. Stop by from 12 pm to 5 pm on May 4th for food and wine pairings, May 6th for a Riesling tasting, and May 11th and 12th for a Mother’s Day market and free tastings for moms.

– Unleashed at Kelowna’s Lakeshore Wine Route

Drive Kelowna’s stunning Lakeshore Wine Route on May 4th between 12 pm to 4 pm and enjoy a wine tasting at each winery along the way. The event is hosted in part by the BC SPCA, which will be offering treats for accompanying pooches.

– Iron Sommelier British Columbia at Okanagan College Centre for Learning

On May 10th, take part in an exciting competition as three expert sommeliers prepare five gourmet courses paired with their pick of wine. Participants will get to cast their votes for the best pairing through text. Tickets cost $99 and the event will be held from 7 pm to 10 pm.

– Putting & Bubbles at Sunset Ranch Golf and Country Club

Come to the Sunset Ranch Golf and Country Club on May 12th from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm to try putting the highest score while enjoying the Okanagan’s best bubbly. Win prizes and pick up some tips from local pros. Tickets are $75.

– Mom and Roses at House of Rose Winery

On May 12th, show Mom a great time by bringing her to the House of Rose Winery between 10 am and 5 pm for complimentary tastings and a special Mother’s Day gift. There will be a beautiful picnic area with plenty of yummy goodies you can sample while enjoying a glass of wine.

When the vines start waking from their slumber, it’s time to raise a glass. There’s no better way to welcome the Okanagan’s legendary wine season than with a tryst through the valley during the Spring Okanagan Wine Festival.
