2017 Kia Sorento
Back to School in Style

When you need a back-to-school vehicle, the 2018 Kia Sorento is a perfect fit for you, your family and all of their back to school gear.

Open up the Back

Available in a five or seven passenger seating arrangement, Kia made room for everyone, including the dog.

With the return to school comes the return to sporting practices, events and matches. Whether you are hauling hockey sticks or basketballs, the Sorento has room for them.

The cargo capacity is 4,145 litres in a five-seat model and 4,365 litres in the seven-seat model. There is ample room behind each seat row for all sorts of cargo, and if you need more room in the five seat model, the cargo hold floor lifts up and offers a place for you to place some of your smaller items.

Do not worry about getting things loaded into the back even if your hands are full because proximity technology is available on select models. This means that if you have the proximity key in your pocket or purse and stand behind the Sorento for a few seconds, the liftgate will automatically open for you.  It doesn’t get any easier than that.

Precious Cargo

Since your family is precious to you, you look for a vehicle that keeps them safe.

Kia has thought about your safety – a lot.  That’s why they have made the Autonomous Emergency Braking System standard on the SXL model. This system will apply the brakes for you if it is determined that there is an obstacle in your way and you have failed to react in a timely manner. This system works with the Front Collison Warning to monitor the roadway and watch for potential collisions.

All trim packages come with a rearview camera that gives you a view of the area surrounding the back of your vehicle. When you put it into REVERSE, you will see an image of the area behind you projected into your display screen. This lets you see blind spots that you might miss otherwise.

Other safety features like 360-degree camera monitoring system, Blind Spot Detection and Lane Departure Warning are available on a range of trim levels.

Stability in your SUV is a safety factor that Kia has addressed by adding Electronic Stability Control and Vehicle Stability Management. All of these systems and sensors work to prevent traction loss and skidding. This keeps you upright and stable.

An advanced high-strength steel chassis is built to absorb energy, so that if you are in an accident, the energy from the collision will be dispersed away from the cabin.

Entertaining

Of course, Kia wouldn’t make an SUV without giving you all sorts of high-tech toys to play with. Depending upon the model you choose, you can connect to your favourite devices or use a built in power plug to power up your laptop.

Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are available, and Bluetooth® makes sending and receiving phone calls hands free.

There are USB and AUX ports that give you a place to plug in, and in the SXL model, Kia put in an Infinity® premium stereo system that sends crystal clear sound through the six onboard speakers.

No matter which model you choose, the 2018 Kia Sorento is more than a back-to-school SUV. It is an award-winning SUV that JD Powers and IIHS have both honoured. Now is a good time to take a test drive in the 2018 Kia Sorento.
