2020 Ford Ranger
Ready for Adventure. (+video)

Impressive Capability

The Ranger puts up some of the best numbers in its class for towing and payload capabilities for a 4-cylinder engine. When equipped with the optional tow package and trailer brake controller, the Ranger can tow up to 7,500 pounds. That’s more than the available V6 engines in the Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado, Nissan Frontier and Honda Ridgeline, all with two fewer cylinders and a turbocharger. On top of that, the Ranger has a maximum payload capacity of 1,860 pounds which is also toward the front of its class. We’d understand if you were skeptical of the capabilities of a 4-cylinder truck, but the Ranger has some serious muscle.

  • “By nearly any yardstick, the Ford Ranger is a solid competitor, with its class-leading towing, comfy cabin and athletic performance. In fact, we see it as the segment leader in several categories.” – autotrader.com

Strong EcoBoost Engine

The 2.3-litre EcoBoost inline-four engine under the hood of every 2019 Ranger is impressive. It makes 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque while returning excellent mileage. That’s an excellent blend of performance and efficiency that is hard to match in this segment, especially when you consider the Ranger’s aforementioned towing and payload capabilities.

  • “The 2019 Ford Ranger is a mid-size truck that performs its truck jobs better than its competitors in almost every area. It can tow and haul as much as most people will ever need, while still carrying four adults as a crew cab, with a five-foot bed. The extended cab has jump seats in the rear, with a six-foot bed.” – autoblog.com

User-Friendly Features

The Ranger has a no-nonsense interior which makes everything easy to control. Whether it’s the climate control or the SYNC infotainment system, everything is easy for the driver to reach and operate. Whether you’re commuting on the highway or busy on the worksite, the Ranger’s features are user-friendly without too much fuss. We recommend upgrading to the 8-inch SYNC 3 system which is one of the better infotainment systems in the industry.

  • “Yes, the Ford Ranger is a good truck. Its turbocharged engine feels energetic in just about every driving situation, and it handles well on winding roads. Gas mileage is great for the class as well. Inside, the Ranger has comfortable front seats, and SuperCrew models have rear seats with enough head- and legroom for adults. There are plenty of available features, including one of the most user-friendly infotainment systems in the segment.” – MSNAutos

Kelly Blue Book’s Favourite Ranger Feature:

  • Tow-optimized blind-spot monitoring
“Ford excels in inventing innovative new features we never knew we needed, but now can’t live without. One such example is the Ranger’s Tow-Optimized Blind Spot Monitor that extends its reach to include whatever is being towed behind the truck. The system can even memorize up to three trailer profiles with varying lengths.”
