Celebrate the Season
Home for the Holidays Party in Halifax

The Home for the Holidays Party is a fantastic way to cap off the holidays just before the New Year. It will be taking place on Saturday, December 28th at the Marriott Halifax Harbourfront from 9 pm to 2 am. DJ RS Smooth and Big Fish will be hitting the stage to entertain you for the evening and get you on your feet.

Big Fish is a fun-loving, five-piece cover band hailing from Halifax that has been performing throughout Eastern Canada for the past two decades. They are known for their lively stage presence and expansive setlists that combine popular songs from the 1950s to the present day with traditional maritime music and musical numbers. Big Fish has been voted Best Reception Band by The Coast multiple times for their creativity and powerful showmanship.

Big Fish will be joined by Ryan Somers, also known as DJ RS Smooth. Raised in Nova Scotia, DJ RS Smooth has been active in the Halifax music scene for many years. When not hosting his radio show (which will soon enter its fourth decade) or teaching Radio Television Journalism programs at the NSCC Ivany Campus, he can still be found playing some of the hottest events in the province.

See both of these talented musical acts live in action and enjoy hours of nonstop music and fun for only $45 per person (plus HST and service fees). Note that you must be at least 19 years of age to attend the Home for the Holidays Party and that the dress code is cocktail attire.

A portion of the ticket proceeds from the show will be going to Chisholm Services For Children, a non-profit organization that offers long-term care programs and community literacy programs for children in need throughout Central Nova Scotia.

Before you make your way to the party on the night of the event, there is plenty to see and do around the Marriott Halifax Harbourfront. It is the only hotel situated right along the waterfront, on the beautiful Halifax boardwalk. The boardwalk offers easy access to numerous shops and restaurants, as well as to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market.

If you’re planning to stop for dinner with friends before the Home for the Holidays Party, then consider making a reservation at the Harbourstone Sea Grill & Pour House. The signature restaurant of the Marriott Halifax Harbourfront, the Harbourstone Sea Grill & Pour House serves up fresh seafood in an array of innovative dishes.

Don’t wait for New Year’s Eve to enjoy a night out and to dance the night away until well past midnight. Glam it up and get your final taste of the Christmas season at the Home for the Holidays Party after a fun Saturday on the town. It might just become your new favourite end-of-holidays tradition.
