The new 2020 Passat is now available at Volkswagen dealers in Canada and features an all-new exterior, with only the roof panel remaining from the previous model. The bold styling lends the Passat a simplified elegance, and the coupe-like roofline helps it stand out in a crowd.
The front end includes a prominent grille design, framed by slimmer LED headlamps and a strong hoodline. Bright and stylish with long-lasting bulbs, LED automatic headlights and daytime running lights make it easy to see and be seen. The long (2804 mm) wheelbase allows for a dramatic profile, and a sharp tornado line, giving the Passat a well-planted look on the road. At the rear, LED taillamps are bisected by a large chrome trim panel featuring the model name script in bold typeface.
The Passat was designed with long-lasting sophisticated good looks in mind. Inside, the new cockpit design features a horizontal theme that emphasizes interior space. Elements such as the air vents, instrument panel and infotainment display have all been integrated into a contemporary layout, further adding to the upscale ambience. At the touch of a button, open the power sunroof for a breath of fresh air. Or slide the sunshade over to keep things cool. Either way, things are looking up.
The new Passat will be available in three trim levels, Comfortline, Highline and Execline, all offering generous equipment levels and allowing the customer to choose their level of appointments. All models will be powered by a standard 2.0-litre turbocharged engine which now produces 206 lb-ft of torque; an increase of 22 lb-ft over the previous model.
Coupled with the six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic, the drivetrain makes for a comfortable driving experience both within and outside the city. The four wheel independent suspension has been designed with all of the dynamic traits expected from a Volkswagen and provides a no-compromise balance between comfort and sportiness.
KESSY keyless access with push-button start is standard on all trim levels, as is App-Connect smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link. Start the engine with the press of a button on your key fob with remote start. Perfect for warming up your ride on those chilly mornings. And the standard rearview camera will make backing out of the driveway or negotiating tight parking spaces much easier.

Passat’s Automatic Post-Collision Braking System helps stop accidents in their tracks. The moment an accident is detected, the system is designed to automatically tighten seat belts and trigger emergency braking to help keep you safe and prevent further accidents.
