More, More, More (video)

From grille to tail, the Sportage is a true work of art. With available 19-inch machine-finished alloys and eye-catching LED light bar taillights, the features and finishes on Sportage will make even the fiercest competitor do a double take.

Available energy-efficient LED headlights provide a pure, clean light to illuminate the road ahead and high beam control activates or deactivates the high beams, depending on approaching traffic.

The design language around Sportage has always been distinctly European and the 2020 model carries on the tradition. From the first pencil stroke, it was meant to convey the kind of presence associated with sweeping, thought-provoking curves and an equally aggressive stance. The significant exterior design changes for 2020 include:

  • New headlights with available LED turn indicators
  • Redesigned projector-beam fog lights
  • Available LED headlights with available LED fog lights
  • New front grille, bumper, air intake and skid plate
  • Newly designed 17-, 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels
  • Redesigned rear bumper and skid plate
  • New exhaust tip design
  • Redesigned tail light trim
  • A new metallic Steel Grey exterior colour

The 2020 Sportage interior design is lightly enhanced and includes:

  • New available SOFINO leatherette seating surfaces
  • Standard 8-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto5 available modem-enabled telematics6, and available navigation
  • Newly designed steering wheel and vent bezels
  • Available smartphone wireless charging tray

Along with the new S trim, Sportage is offered in LX, EX and SX variants in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Two engines are available: a 2.4-liter GDI producing 181 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. or torque or a 2.0-liter turbo GDI that’s good for up to 240 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Safety has always been a priority for Sportage and this year’s model proves no different, featuring an array of available driver assist technologies including:

  • Blind Spot Detection System (BSD)

Total awareness of your surroundings. The available blind spot detection system actively monitors your blind spots for approaching vehicles and provides a visual alert on outside mirrors, as well as an audible alert when necessary.

  • Forward Collision Avoidance Assist

A comforting reassurance. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system can detect a potential collision, warn you with an audible alert, and then automatically apply the brakes to help prevent or reduce the impact.

New to the available Sportage safety systems are:

  • Driver Attention Warning
  • Smart Cruise Control with Start & Stop
  • High beam assist
  • Lane Keep Assist System

With available Dynamax™ Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD), you can confidently keep going when the road ends. This system offers fully automatic torque distribution that proactively transfers torque for better traction during acceleration, cornering or in low traction scenarios.

Whether you want a relaxing, fuel-efficient drive or a more aggressive, sporty experience, the Sportage can deliver your preference at the push of a button. With Drive Mode Select, you can choose between modes to adjust power delivery, transmission shift points and steering feedback to suit any particular road, weather conditions and your driving style.

To keep you safe and in control behind the wheel, the Sportage comes with many standard features like Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill Assist Control and Downhill Brake Control.
