It is with mixed feelings we announce Paul Mike’s retirement.

Paul came to us from the Leggat group and has been a dedicated Halton Honda employee for 33 years. As our Parts Manager he was focused on providing the best possible service to Halton Honda’s customers and the technicians who rely on the Parts staff. We have lost a key part of our management team and he will be missed for his experience, his direct sense of humour and his contribution to organizing the annual golf tournaments over the years.

We wish Paul well; he has earned the opportunity to take it easy. He is now free to pursue his interests and he and Jane and their family can enjoy the next chapter in their lives.

Cast your minds back to 1989, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the first Batman movie, Milli Vanilli were still authentic, and a strapping Paul Mike was hired on as the new Parts Manager at a young Halton Honda located on Fairview.

A man of few words, we asked Paul to lift the lid on his long career and share some facts before starting on his new adventures.

What were your biggest challenges at that time?
The biggest challenge was staying competitive with other dealers, trying back in the day to take over the wholesale business in our area.

How was the big move from Fairview?
Easy.

What did you enjoy the most?
I enjoyed putting out the fires. Those times where it was my experience that solved the issues at hand, by finding parts that the other guys could not, and my years of experience knowing the parts catalogue better than most.

What do you find memorable about your time here?
Having over the years so many staff members that became friends.

What will you miss the most?
Parts issue challenges.

What are your plans for the future? (Now, here is where he opens up and you can tell this is a man excited about his future).
January 2023, headed to Florida for 3 months, golfing, relaxing, and having a serious conversation with Captain Morgan and the rest of my Pirate friends that will be in Florida with Jane (Paul’s wife) and I in Leesburg, Florida.

Travel the state to visit more friends that are in St. Petes and Bradenton, and off to Jasper a few times to watch our granddaughter’s boyfriend race Motocross.

I’d like to travel a little more in the off season, going to maybe do a cruise through the Panama Canal in the fall.

Come back in April and start working at the golf course, cutting the fairways and the greens and other maintenance duties they throw my way.

Sounds like solid plan Paul. And we’re sure you have all the parts to make it a success!
