Mark Comfort Starts on a New Road
Congratulations to our Service Manager

It is with mixed feelings we announce Mark Comfort’s retirement.

Mark was a dedicated employee for 30 years, most of that time as Service Manager, and was focused on providing the best possible service to Halton Honda’s customers. In his early days with us he was our Bodyshop estimator and was promoted to Service manager when that position came available. We have lost a key part of our management team and he will be missed.

On the other hand, Mark has earned the opportunity to take it easy and pursue his interests and he and Bunny to enjoy the next chapter in their lives.

Richard Bellm
Dealer Principal

When we asked how he got started in the industry Mark said, “My apprenticeship began with my father, repairing vehicles, driving south and buying classic cars and then on from there. I’m not sure what was talked about more–my mother & sister with figure skating or… my father & I with automotive. I think my father & I won out on that one.”

Any memorable moments? “I enjoyed setting up the service department from scratch when we moved from Fairview to Harvester rd. But one memory stands out from many. When my wife & I were invited by the Bellm’s to Whistler BC (Whistler Village) for the grand launch of the new Pilot. If that wasn’t enough, they extended our stay a few days so we could enjoy golfing at some beautiful courses. Can’t imagine employers better than this!”

What are you going to miss? “Besides the pay cheque? Well, being at the same place for over 30years, I have worked with and developed a relationship with many people, all of which will be truly missed. To the staff who worked with me over a number of years; not only did they offer support and dedication to their jobs but also developed a personal connection to me. I truly embraced the camaraderie that we shared. One can never replace that.”

Check out that time when Mark approved some Technician-fun out back (video).

And to the customers? “You should have asked that first, after all where would we be without them? To me, our customers were not only a source of our income but much more than that. Once again, I was very fortunate to meet so many fantastic people. Over the years I had the pleasure to interact not only on a business level but on a more personal level and to me that was very, very special.”

What aren’t you going to miss? “The drive from Brantford every day.”

What plans do you have now? “I’m doing some casual work, home renovations, drywall. There’s a lot of folks out there with small jobs that contractors can’t be bothered to do. And of course I’m looking forward to having more time with Bunny.”

A little more of this please.

“I am excited about my impending retirement and would like to take this opportunity to thank Peter & Richard Bellm for all the opportunities that I have experienced during my tenure at Halton Honda. The fairness, generosity & compassion shown to me throughout the years were exceptional and very much appreciated. Thank you to everyone, staff and customers for making my career so enjoyable and memorable.”
