Plump Pumpkin Pickin’ and More
Celebrating Fall at The Jungle Farm

A well-loved, three-season family destination, The Jungle Farm is a pick-your-own produce farm just outside of Red Deer. It’s a great place to come celebrate fall and get ready for Halloween.

Fall at The Jungle Farm is chock-full of fun events and activities collectively known as Fall Fun at The Jungle Farm. It’s a great place to come and find some organic, locally grown produce and fantastic family entertainment. The Jungle Farm has been a working family farm since 1897.

You know it’s fall time at The Jungle Farm when the pumpkin patch opens up for the pickins’. Many families make a tradition out of coming down to the pumpkin patch every year to find a jack-o-lantern for Halloween. Others keep the pumpkins whole to use as decorations throughout the whole season, while some people come hunting for the perfect pumpkin to bake into delicious fall treats.

Searching for the perfect vine-ripened pumpkin to pick can be quite an exciting adventure. The pumpkin patch is open until the first frost, but don’t fret if you miss it. After the pumpkins need to be picked, you can always come down and find them in the farm’s Pumpkin Tent.

One of the most popular fall events at The Jungle Farm is Extreme Power Tool Pumpkin Carving, which is back by popular demand again this year. The event will be taking place during the last weekend of October, on Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th. Whoever thought to mix power tools and pumpkin carving was certainly onto something, as it’s a recipe for fun. The Jungle Farm will supply you with everything you need, including the pumpkin, the power tools, and patterns to work off if you want to use them.

Fall Fun at The Jungle Farm offers no shortage of additional activities to fill the day. You can visit the farm animals, try to find your way through an eight-acre corn maze, take a wagon ride, or try to beat an obstacle course. There are wooden play structures available for the kids, complete with two 60-foot super slides! The rustic backdrop of The Jungle Farm also provides numerous fantastic photo opportunities.

When you visit The Jungle Farm, it’s always worthwhile to stop by the General Store. A renovated barn, the General Store is the place to go for all sorts of farm-fresh produce, tasty baked goods, jams, preserves, and an assortment of gifts.

During the fall season, which runs until October 28th, 2018, The Jungle Farm is open from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday Mondays. Admission costs are $8.50 for guests 16 years of age and older and $7.50 for children ages three to 15. Children two and under get free admission to The Jungle Farm, so you can start developing a love of agriculture in your little ones early on!

If you’re looking for something fun to do with the family over the last few weekends of October, then The Jungle Farm is where you want to be. On top of entertaining the kids for the day, you’ll be able to pick up some plump pumpkins for baking fall goodies and setting out on your porch on Halloween.
