Hi There,
Great thing you have going here for Ask the Techs! We really look forward to seeing this in the Brantford Honda newsletter each month. This time we have a question!
This is our third Honda in 8 years and they have all been Honda CRV’S.(they just keep getting better) We have loved every Honda we’ve had and maintained the vehicles very well. We did every service recommended and lots that were not.. Winter tires ect. Our question to you is this, what service or maintenance should we be doing that is not in the book or a light up on our dash? And why would you recommend it. Our family is growing and we are already so confident in Honda and feel safe when driving in this weather. We figure with the winter we’re having so far, we don’t want to overlook anything that should be done. Thanks for any help and recommendations.
Chris & Kirsten
Hi Chris & Kirsten, thanks for the question.
To be honest there’s not really much else that’s really needed to be done as a preventative maintenance. The maintenance minder system is pretty on par with keeping your vehicle running the way it should. But do keep in mind that things do happen and things do wear out. Not all components are serviceable as well which means that they need to be replaced as a complete unit. Therefore there’s not as much servicing you can do. Just keep bringing you car to the people that know it best, and don’t open you hood to strangers.
Cheers,
