Ammar’s Tech Tips: Connectivity

For many of us, our smartphones have become a touchstone of life. It affects how we do our jobs, how we interact with our friends and family, and even how we access information.

Our phones are used to the extent that we rarely ever give it a chance to reboot. Our dependency on our smartphones has gotten to a point that it can frustrate us when things don’t work or function as intended.

A simple solution to the most common connectivity issues between your Toyota and your smartphone can easily be resolved with a simple solution.

The solution is to restart or reboot your phone every so often. I typically restart my phone a couple of times a week.

Rebooting your phone consists of powering down the phone and letting it rest for at least a minute before turning it back on. This allows all the background processes to completely shutdown.

This helps with clearing open apps, retaining memory, preventing crashes, running more smoothly and even prolonging battery life. But for the most part, it refreshes your phone connection with your vehicle.

Furthermore, a periodic deletion of your phone pairing with your vehicle is also essential. Deleting your phone from the vehicle also helps the vehicle’s head unit clear all its memory of your phone. A fresh pairing of your phone with the head unit will refresh the connection between them and usually eliminates any glitches that may occur.

I promise you won’t miss too much in the two minutes it might take to reboot your phone.
