2020 Toyota Highlander
Your Multi-Purpose Mobile Command Centre (+video)

The 2020 Highlander features a more powerful stance fused with a more sophisticated attitude. While its design will turn heads, it also delivers greater aerodynamic efficiency for enhanced vehicle stability. Let’s take a closer look …

A modern realm filled with luxurious touches, like standard 8-way power-adjustable and heated driver’s seat, Highlander is your command centre. The intuitive central console puts controls close at hand. Available features, like Qi wireless charging, 10” head-up display, and LED ambient lighting put you in charge while making you wish the journey would never end.

Platinum models offer space for 7 with heated 2nd row Captain’s Chairs. All other models comfortably seat 8 courtesy of a 2nd-row bench. Large rear doors provide easy access to the 3rd row. Three-zone climate control lets everyone set their own comfort zone.

A full 60mm longer, the 2020 Highlander offers more cargo volume than ever. Fold the 60/40 split fold-flat 3rd seats to open up 40.6 cu.ft. of space. With the 2nd row seats down, cargo volume increases to 73.3 cu.ft. The available hands-free power liftgate makes loading up and loading out even easier.

All models feature standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility giving you easy access to your favourite apps, music, navigation and more. LE Grades and above include Safety Connect, while XLE adds Remote Connect and Service connect. Highlander Limited offers it all plus Destination Assist, embedded navigation, embedded traffic and weather. Platinum Grade adds the impressive 12.3” touchscreen display to these features.

The available 3.5-litre 295 HP V6 serves up an ideal blend of power and efficiency. Backed by next-generation technology, like Dual Variable Valve Timing-with intelligence (Dual VVT-i), and mated to an 8-speed direct shift automatic transmission – putting power and responsiveness at your fingertips, while helping to make the most of every litre. The available towing package allows you to take 5,000 lbs along for the ride. Features include a heavy-duty radiator, engine oil cooler, and Trailer Sway Control (TSC) to restrict unwanted trailer movement.

A Toyota-first, DTV-AWD can send up to 50 per cent of engine torque to the rear wheels, then distributes power to the wheel that needs it most – enhancing stability, responsiveness and control. When it isn’t needed, the system sends all driving force to the front wheels to improve fuel economy and deliver a smoother ride. Available Multi-Terrain Select lets you choose between four modes – Mud & Sand, Rock & Dirt, Snow, and Normal – helping to maximize traction when the roads or the weather take a turn for the worse.

Highlander takes your safety to the next level with standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 – an advanced suite of active safety technologies and capabilities, that works to enhance protection and support your awareness and decision making under a variety of conditions and contingencies. New for 2020 is enhanced Pedestrian Detection that allows the system to better see pedestrians and cyclists in lowlight conditions. And Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), that helps to keep your Toyota better centred in its lane.

FEATURES INCLUDE:

  • Pre-Collision System with Daytime / Low-Light Vehicle and Pedestrian Detection, plus Daytime Bicycle Detection
  • Lane Tracing Assist
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Road Edge Detection
  • Automatic High Beam
  • Full Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
