Best Spring Destinations Around the World

Each of the destinations described below has beautiful weather during the springtime and fewer crowds than in the peak summer season. Plus, travelling before peak season means you’ll be able to take advantage of cheaper flights and hotels. Enjoy spring deals and spring weather at the following six locales.

Istanbul

Istanbul enjoys a mild spring that makes it a much better time to explore the city than during its hotter summers. The city is also covered in beautiful blooming tulips this time of year, and it plays host to a large tulip festival during the month of April. Crowds don’t usually peak until May, making for a more relaxing experience when visiting Istanbul’s top landmarks and numerous parks.

Tokyo

Spring is Tokyo’s famous cherry blossom season, painting the city in delicate shades of pink. The cherry blossoms usually arrive near the end of March and are in full bloom during the first week of April. The weather is also ideal this time of year before Tokyo’s hot and unbearably humid summers arrive. In addition to viewing the cherry blossoms, you’ll never run out of things to do in this vibrant metropolis.

Sydney

Spring in Canada is actually fall in Australia, and it comes just after the country’s peak tourist season. Sydney is lovely during the Australian fall, with mild temperatures perfect for exploring the beaches and visiting some of the best restaurants in the world. From iconic landmarks like the Opera House to thrilling activities like the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb, there’s something here for all types of travellers.

Madrid

Spain’s capital and largest city, Madrid is a stunning place to explore. Travellers come here for the architecture, the food and alfresco dining, the famous museums, the vibrant nightlife, and much more. Visiting in the spring is recommended as it allows you to beat the throngs of summer tourists. The balmy temperatures also make it much more enjoyable to walk around the city and plan a packed itinerary.

Mexico City

Spring is easily the best time to visit Mexico City before the summer rains arrive. The weather is idyllic and, while the city is always crowded with its 26 million locals, you’ll still have an easier time making your way around using the metro system. Though Mexico City has plenty of greenery all year round, the spring months are when the gorgeous purple jacarandas are in bloom.

Grand Canyon

There is nothing like experiencing the Grand Canyon in the spring. In addition to the beautiful vistas available during any season, the canyon bursts with new life everywhere you look. Cooler temperatures also make it easier to spend long stretches of time outside than in the summer. While spring break does bring an influx of visitors, it still doesn’t get as crowded as it does during peak season.

Make the most of your spring vacation this year by visiting a world-class destination where you know you will have a good time. Any one of these six spots should be at the top of your list.
