The 2017 Peterborough YWCA Walk A Mile in her Shoes walk took place on May 26th under overcast but rain-free skies. The energy and excitement most certainly wouldn’t have diminished even if the rain had come, but we are thankful it held out for the festivities. Over 350 people walked in red shoes of all kinds and proved that rising to the challenge is possible with our community raising  $132,187.72 totalling 3007 safe nights sleep for women and children coming to the YWCA fleeing abuse. 

From the local businesses keeping us hydrated with water (Rocky Ridge & Mark’s Work Warehouse), caffeinated with tea or coffee (Amuse Coffee Co.) and red shoe ready (YWCA), our whole community has been a vital part of this amazing campaign going off without a hitch and surpassing its goal!
