The 411 on Honda’s Passport

The 5 passenger Passport is richly equipped, so even the entry-level trim comes extremely well equipped featuring remote engine starter, 152 watt AM/FM audio system, power moonroof, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, 10-way power driver’s seat, 20” alloy wheels, LED headlights with auto on/off, auto high beam, HondaLink Assist Automatic Emergency Response, LED fog lamps, a multi-angle rearview camera, roof rails, front wiper de-icer, and the Honda Sensing Suite of driver-assist technology.

Upper trim levels include additional convenience features, such as adding driver’s seat position memory, leather-trimmed seating, 4-way power passenger seat, power tailgate, acoustic windshield, and memory-linked side mirrors with reverse gear tilt-down.

And a fully-loaded Passport comes standard with all-wheel drive in addition to adding even more goodies such as a 550-watt premium sound system with 10 speakers, ventilated front seats, an AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless charging for smartphones, hands-free access power tailgate, and Blind Spot Information (BSI) system with Rear Cross Traffic Monitor System. But the big upgrade comes with the standard Intelligent Variable Torque Management (i-VTM4) AWD system.

A Tour of the Honda Passport Using Expert Reviews

  • “When the Pilot’s too big and the CR-V is too small, the 2020 Honda Passport two-row crossover SUV is just the ticket.” –thecarconnection.com
  • “The 2020 Honda Passport beat out several popular mid-size rivals in our testing because it has the best combination of spaciousness, sportiness, and value.” – Car and Driver
  • “With its strong and refined V-6 engine, smooth and composed ride, and confident cornering, the 2019 Honda Passport makes for a capable mid-size crossover. It adds in strong all-terrain capability with optional all-wheel drive, excellent rear-seat comfort and fabulous cargo space.” – autoblog.com
  • “The Passport’s styling is fairly clean, despite some adventurous touches such as standard 20-inch wheels. From the front, an unpainted chin on the bumper adds heft. LED headlights are standard.

From the side, it’s tidier than the larger three-row SUVs. The profile view might be its best angle. It looks balanced, with a strong character line running between the wheel wells. A large roof rack is optional, but it would be appropriate if it were standard with all-wheel drive for adventure-minded buyers.” – autoblog.com

  • “Inside, Honda says Passport offers best-in-class passenger space (3,281 litres) and total interior volume (4,448 L) for carrying family, friends and weekend adventure gear. There’s an easy-to-clean reversible cargo floor and a large segmented under-floor cargo compartment for carrying dirty gear or keeping valuables out of sight.” – driving.ca
  • “This spacious, reinforced unibody SUV comes with only one powertrain, a direct-injected 3.5-litre V6 that makes 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. On the road, unlike those knobby-tired off-road beasts, the 2020 Honda Passport offers a quiet ride.

The 9-speed automatic transmission is judicious and offers a pleasing and smooth ride. Shifts are well portioned, and power delivery is steady. The steering is a bit sportier than on the Pilot, precise and attentive. The cabin is quiet, and overall the driving experience of the Passport doesn’t offend in any way.” – kbb.com (Kelly Blue Book)

  • “Off-road, the Passport is surprisingly capable. In fact, for a car-based crossover, it’s downright impressive. It’s not engineered for severe, boulder-strewn trails — it has neither skid plates nor 4-low gearing — but it performs brilliantly in mud, sand and snow. We even took on a few rocky outcroppings.” – autotrader.com

And there you have it. The reviews are in and it’s unanimous: the 2020 Honda Pilot is well worth your consideration and could be the perfect choice for your next two-row SUV.
