If you have been interested in an SUV, but decided that their overall size was an issue, then check out the compact CR-V. Its small size makes navigating side streets and parking easier. Don’t be fooled by its size; it is quite roomy inside.

While the redesign only added 1.5-inches to the overall length, Honda added 1.6-inches to the wheelbase. That creates about two more inches in back seat room. Honda lifted it up an inch off the ground for improved under carriage clearance for driving on backcountry trails without losing any headroom. Depending upon which model you prefer, the headroom varies between 101.8cm to 96.1cmm in the front and 99.6cm to 97.4cm in the rear. The Touring model has the least amount of room.

Five people will have plenty of room to stretch their legs out, 105cm in the front seat and 102.5cm in the rear seat across all models, to be exact.

A folded rear seat opens up almost 25cms more cargo area. Depending upon which model you choose, there’s a cargo volume of 1110L with the seats up and 2146L with them down. The Touring model offers a little less volume with the seats up, but the same with them down.

What Else is New?

The extra wide door openings and row space allow for easier access to the second row. It also got the first hands-free power liftgate on a Honda model.

Honda tweaked the interior control panels.  They added a radio volume knob to the 7-inch touchscreen and combined the instrument cluster into a three-zone readout rather than a more traditional two-dial setup. Now the digital TFT cluster includes a power band for the tach and numeric speed readout.

Newly reshaped storage consoles, drink holders and upgraded USB ports all add to the enjoyment of your passengers. Seat options include cloth and leather.

The 2017 CR-V benefits from even more of the Honda Sensing suite of safety features like driver assist technology that can be found in the rear cross traffic monitor, blind spot information and  lane departure warning.
