The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder
Celebrating Its 30th Anniversary in Canada with a New Look

The iconic Nissan Pathfinder is in its 30th year as one of Canada’s favourite SUVs. Nissan engineers took this occasion to give the Pathfinder a major exterior redesign for the 2017 model year. A fresh exterior, more all-terrain capability and the latest advancements in safety and technology give this good old model a great new feel.

“The Nissan Pathfinder has a storied heritage as one of the modern pioneers in the SUV segment, with more than 30 years in Canada, yet we are always looking forward – staying true to the Pathfinder name,” says Tomoyuki Matsumoto, Senior Chief Marketing Manager at Nissan Canada Inc.

The new exterior has a stronger presence. A bold new front end equipped with Nissan signature boomerang-shaped headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights, a grille borrowed from the V-Motion concept car and a newly sculpted hood.

A limited-edition, 30th Anniversary Platinum Midnight Edition will be available at our select showrooms while supplies last for the same price as the Platinum model ($48,478 CAD). The Platinum Midnight Edition is available for the Platinum model only in four colour combinations: Magnetic Black, Gun Metallic, Caspian Blue and Pearl White. All are fitted with a charcoal colour, leather-appointed interior. Other features include Canada-exclusive badges on the fenders and tailgate, custom 20-inch black aluminum-alloy wheels, black exterior trim and accents and signature LED interior lighting and illuminated kick plates. It also comes standard with Nissan’s Forward Emergency Braking.

All models now have a new 3.5-litre V6 engine which is tuned to rate at 284 horsepower, up 24 hp from last year’s model. The engine increases maximum towing capacity by 450 kg. to an impressive 2700 kg and improved fuel efficiency of 8.5 highway and 11.6 city due to the engine’s direct injection tech.

Pathfinder’s successfully quiet and comfortable interior also includes a wide range of available features, includes two rows of well-padded seating surfaces, available heated and cooled front seats, heated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, multiple user memory settings and a Bose Audio System with 13 speakers. New cloth seat fabric is added for the S and SV grades, along with new interior finishes and leather seats for the SL, SL Premium Tech and Platinum trim levels.

The 2017 Pathfinder’s 3-row, 7-passenger interior offers a wide range of seating and cargo carrying combinations thanks to the flexible design that allows the second-row seat to fold, recline or slide as needed and the third row, 50/50-split seat to recline or fold flat. The flat interior floor maximises cargo space for an overall interior area for all passengers and cargo of 4,921 litres (173.8 cubic feet) combined.

A major new interior feature is the latest new-generation information technology Nissan added to the model. The standard Advanced Drive-Assist Display (ADAD), is now located in the centre of the instrument display between the tachometer and speedometer and features infotainment and driver assistance displays. Voice recognition has been enhanced with a new HD microphone to make voice command easier and more efficient.
