The 2017 Nissan Altima
Offering a Model for Every Driver

The latest 2017 Nissan Altima carries over without any major changes and that’s a good thing. A major overhaul for the 2016 model year won over both reviewers and Nissan buyers alike with its excellent fuel efficiency and a spacious, quiet interior, so why mess with a great thing?

The Altima is a reliable mid-size sedan with lots to offer for just under $24,000. There are 6 models available here in the Great White North including the 2.5, 2.5 S, 2.5 SV, 2.5 SR, 2.5 SL and 3.5 SL.

Power-wise, the first five trims are fitted with a 2.5-litre, 179-horsepower 4-cylinder engine with an estimated fuel economy of 7.5 L/100 km combined. The 3.5 SL has a 270-horsepower 3.5-litre V6 and an estimated fuel economy of 9.1L/100km combined.

The Altima SR is the sportiest of the models and features customised suspension tuning, including a larger-diameter stabiliser bar. The SR’s body roll has also been noticeably reduced by more than 20 percent compared to the other trim levels for more responsive handling. Smoked headlight housings, fog lights, and a rear decklid spoiler set it apart from the other Altimas. Both the 2.5 SR and 3.5 come with sportier machined, 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels as standard.

Altima 2.5-litre models all get 16-inch steel wheels and 215/60R16 all-season tires. The SV and SL come with 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels with 215/55R17 all-season tires.

Nissan has always focused its efforts in building an Altima to enhance what they call “DQR”: durability, quality and reliability. But they’ve also added a quieter cabin as a top priority for this year and beyond.

The new 2017 Altima is manufactured with acoustic windshield glass to mitigate road noise, insulation and sound barriers on the exterior firewall were added to reduce acceleration noises and engine mounts were added to reduce transmission noise that could carry into the interior.

All Altima interiors get comfortable and luxurious Zero Gravity front seats as standard for better support. The standard fabric seats can be upgraded to leather-appointed seats and leather trim on higher packages. Since the SR trim is the sportiest package, the interior gets track-inspired details like a leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted paddle shifters and a leather-wrapped gear shifter. The seats feature contrast stitching in blue.

All Altimas regardless of trim level come with the Advanced Drive-Assist display in the centre with a 4.0-inch colour screen for a customisable listing of key vehicle information. The 2.5 S, 2.5 SR and 2.5 SV upgrade the display to a larger, 5.0-inch colour screen which also displays audio and the standard rearview monitor for these trim levels. The Altima 2.5 SL and 3.5 SL further upgrade the display area by enlarging it to a 7-inch touchscreen including NissanConnect with Smartphone Apps and Navigation.

Nissan never skimps on safety and the 2017 Altima SL offers the best range of standard safety features including Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Standard Intelligent Cruise Control and Forward Emergency Braking.

Nissan has organised its lineup of 2017 Altimas to meet the needs of each driver. Are you value, sports, safety or performance oriented? Regardless, there is an Altima trim level designed just for you. Come visit us at one of our conveniently located showrooms and we’ll help you decide which of the 6 Altima models is your match.
