Nissan Modified a 2017 TITAN Pro-4X
Project Truck debuts at 2017 Chicago Auto Show

The Nissan TITAN is a solid, reliable pickup truck. But for some truck lovers, any standard, off-the-lot pickup truck is a little too vanilla. Nissan ran with this idea by creating a one-off, radical version of the TITAN Pro-4X by using a mix of Genuine Nissan parts and aftermarket parts. The beauty premiered at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show.

Why would Nissan give such a project a shot? They wanted to showcase the wide variety of parts they offer and show their fans how easy it can be to give their trucks a custom look.

“We want to demonstrate to TITAN owners how they can transform their trucks using parts and accessories that can be readily available through their local Nissan dealers,” said Fred Diaz, division Vice President and General Manager of North America Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles for Nissan North America, Inc.

The modified truck started off as a black Super Crew Cab, with a 390-horsepower 5.6-liter Endurance V8 and a heavy-duty 7-speed automatic transmission with 4-wheel drive. Aftermarket Hankook Dynapro ATM 285x55R20 tires and a Trifecta tonneau cover were added.

The Nissan team also added a prototype suspension kit and exhaust system, which may be a future Nissan TITAN package upgrade. Other prototype kits included a Nissan Motorsports Lift Kit and a prototype NISMO TITAN Cat-back Exhaust System.

According to Nissan News (who posted the project), genuine Nissan parts used in the modification included:

.   Nissan TITAN Genuine Accessory Front Grille with black inserts

.   Nissan TITAN 20″x8″ Genuine Accessory Wheels

.   Nissan TITAN Genuine Accessory Step Rails

.   Nissan TITAN Genuine Accessory LED Fog Lights

.   Nissan TITAN Genuine Accessory Bed Box

.   Nissan TITAN Genuine Accessory Tailgate Guard

.   Nissan TITAN Genuine Accessory Rear Bumper Step

If you’re into vehicle modification, this is a great project. But if you like what Nissan created and don’t have the time or skills to build a modified one, you can simply buy a 2017 Nissan TITAN XD Pro-4X Crew Cab with one of the packages they offer.

Starting at $47,180, the TITAN Pro-4X is equipped with an Endurance 5.6-liter DOHC 32-valve V8 Engine, Bilstein off-road performance shocks, and shift-on-the-fly 4-wheel drive, which lets you shift between 2WD and 4WD instantaneously while driving up to 60 mph. 4WD includes a low-range 4-LO for severe terrain or conditions that demand absolute control at low speeds.

18” x 7.5” two-tone aluminum-alloy wheels come standard and are fitted with LT275/65R18 all-terrain off-road tires. 16 colour combinations provide a good range of bold or monotone colour options. You can add the Nissan genuine accessories listed above that were used for the Nissan mod project to further customise your version of the TITAN XD Pro-4X.

While the one-off prototype is not for sale, some of the prototype modifications may make it to the package offerings for future TITAN models. In the meantime, come visit us to check out the 2017 Nissan TITAN XD Pro-4X.
