2017 Nissan Qashqai
Nissan’s Popular Crossover Lineup adds a New Star Player

Nissan’s #1 selling Rogue compact crossover now has a slightly smaller and sportier sibling.  The Qashqai (pronounced “Cash-k-eye”), is already popular in Europe for its sporty handling and ideal dimensions. Let’s have a closer look at why it’s bound to be a winner here as well.

Although new to Canada, the Qashqai has been a wildly popular option in Europe for years. Drivers love its unique combination of progressive style, commanding point of view, and available tech that work to keep you and your passengers safe.

There are three trim levels to choose from: S, SV, and SL.

S models are all front-wheel drive and are available with either a six-speed manual transmission or the Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission) with manual shift mode.

SV models include available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD), a power sliding glass moonroof, Nissan’s Intelligent Key® with Push Button Ignition, a Remote Engine Start System, and the versatile Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System and more.

The SL trim level features 19″ Aluminum-alloy wheels, a 7.0 inch colour touch-screen display, Nissan Voice Recognition for audio and navigation, SiriusXM® Traffic and Travel Link, and the Intelligent Around View® Monitor among other exciting features.

Drivers looking for even more can order the SL Platinum package which includes LED headlights, NissanConnect with Navigation, Intelligent Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, and Lane Departure Warning.

Intelligent All-Wheel Drive is so responsive, it can adapt to changing conditions 30 times faster than the blink of an eye. Snow, rain-covered pavement, or tight turns, the system automatically sends power to the wheels that need it most.1

Unlike traditional systems that only maintain a set speed, Intelligent Cruise Control also helps maintain an adjustable set distance between you and the car in front of you. As traffic slows down or speeds up, your Qashqai can respond accordingly.

Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection monitors your speed and distance between you and the car ahead and can let you know if you need to slow down. It can even automatically engage the brakes to help avoid a collision or lessen the severity of an impact. And when it detects a pedestrian in the crosswalk, it can stop you in your tracks.

Blind Spot Warning (BSW) helps you change lanes with confidence. It keeps an eye on the blind spot area and gives you a heads-up if it detects a vehicle hiding there.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) helps you back out of a space more safely. It watches around the rear of your Qashqai, and can warn you about cars it detects creeping up on you from either side.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW)/Intelligent Lane Intervention makes sure you change lanes only when you mean to. If LDW detects that you’re unintentionally drifting over, it’ll give you a heads-up. Intelligent Lane Intervention helps keep you in your lane. It taps the brakes to help gently guide you back if it detects that you’re unintentionally straying out of your lane for too long.
